The Key to Your Success — Training!
Successful firms recognize the value of training staff for tomorrow. These same companies view training as a vital component of their corporate development and as an investment in their future.
To use the business tools of the future, your employees will need some type of training to maintain their effectiveness and efficiency. Without training, your personnel are standing still while the business world whizzes past.
Many factors can contribute to the decline in the knowledge level of your employees. The most insidious is, believe it or not, technology! Technology acceleration is forcing companies and their staff to remain in a continual process of training. Not only do software applications and the hardware platforms on which they run change every six months, but the way we use the tools themselves is in a constant state of flux.
The question is: How can you effectively manage your training budget and get the most effective training possible?
Many companies use "peer-to-peer" training and support for their employees. "Peer-to-peer" training occurs when the local expert in the department or office gets called to answer "just a quick question", or "do a quick training" for someone. A 1992 study done by Nolan, Norton & Co. (a KPMG Peat Marwick unit) found this method of training to be the greatest cost in buying and supporting a PC. They studied 10 large companies (e.g., Ford and Xerox), and found this "peer-to-peer" style of training actually costs a company $6,000 to $15,000 a year — per PC!
Computer-based training (CBT) has an initially low cost (if you already have your hardware), but its effectiveness is limited by the course material and the learning style of the student.
At Computer One Training, our instructor-led training allows your focus to be on practical effectiveness. With personal interaction, we can determine our students' immediate needs. We provide task-based training wherein we make the learned tasks immediately useable. In other words, your employees will return from our classes ready to immediately implement what they learned to their work environment.
At Computer One Training, we believe the future is dependent on people and technology, and we are committed to making your business investment in both successful.
